Change Your Mind: Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation
Saturday 8th January 2022
10:30am - 12:30pm
Led by Maitrikaya
A five-week online course exploring the path of Buddhism and Meditation.
As covid restrictions ease we may notice that we do not respond to the changing circumstances in a straightforward way. Perhaps we are resistant to the opening of society and fear what these changes will bring? Or maybe we dive headfirst into what the new freedoms permit only to find we don’t get the satisfaction we were expecting?
The Buddhist approach is to recognise that to free ourselves, we need to recognise that happiness and fulfilment ultimately come from within our mind, not from external conditions. And that to free ourselves we need to change our mind so we can respond to the flux and chaos of our surroundings with creativity, calm and resilience.
On this five-week online course we will explore how Buddhist teachings and practices enable us to make this change. Central to the course will be a thorough introduction to the practice of meditation.
The course is accompanied by the book Change Your Mind by Paramananda and you can purchase it online from Windhorse Publications in either paperback or in ebook format.
We have arranged a discount on the cost of the book for all of you on the course. If you use the discount code dbc_cym10 you will get 10% off the cost of the book. And if you set up a free account with Windhorse Publications you’ll receive a further 10% discount.
Suitable for: anyone who would like to learn about Buddhism and meditation
This course will be run on Zoom. All our online events are offered for free but please consider making a donation of €100 for the 5 weeks to help us to continue to provide classes in this way.
