October Weekend Sangha Retreat: The Three Myths of the Dharma Life
October Weekend Sangha Retreat: The Three Myths of the Dharma Life

Friday 23rd October 2020 - Monday 26th October 2020
Led by members of the Irish Order
As Sangha regulars will know, the DBC has a long tradition of going to Sandville House in Cavan for retreats, including every year on the October Bank Holiday weekend.
However, we can’t go on retreat to Sandville House together right now. We can’t experience the beauty of the Cavan countryside. We can’t enjoy the birdsong as we meditate there in the morning, or the stillness of sitting in the dark together after the evening puja.
We can’t watch the leaves falling from the many trees and reflect upon the shifting of the seasons, or contemplate the turf-fire’s dance and enjoy its smell on our clothes.
But we can still practice the Dharma together, and we can still have an effective retreat of a different kind, where we experience the joy of being on these Cavan retreats together here in our lives in lock-down.
A Different Kind of October Retreat
This October Bank Holiday weekend, you are invited to help us continue our long tradition of these Sangha Retreats by joining us for an intensive Dharma weekend retreat held online, led by members of the Irish Order.
We’ll be exploring The Three Myths of the Dharma Life, three different ways of seeing our journey to Buddhahood – self-development, self-discovery and self-surrender.
And in keeping with being on retreat in Sandville House, we’ll be following the usual programme we’d have there over the weekend, kicking-off on Friday evening and finishing by lunchtime on the Monday.
