Ride the Tiger: Day Retreat

Saturday 3rd February 2024
10:00am - 4:30pm

Led by Osadha

An In-Person Event

Life is unpredictable, uncontrollable and unstable.

This is a cause of so much suffering for us but for a Buddha it is not a problem at all. The Mahasiddha Dorje Drolo is depicted dancing on a pregnant tigress; a dangerous and volatile animal. But he has no fear at all and instead dances in the Great Bliss of uncertainty. Surely it would be wiser to stay clear of such dangerous animals? How can we relate to such images as this and how can we apply their meaning in our lives? What is the Awakened Vision that frees us from all suffering?

Explore some of these themes and maybe get a glimpse of a mind that is free from all fear on this day retreat, through meditation, poetry, inquiry and ritual.

It will be an opportunity to discover a new dimension to your meditation practice, or to reconnect with it if it has slipped, and may also serve as a great way to connect with the Sangha.

Lunch

Shared lunch is a really great part of these days so we also encourage you to bring some vegetarian food to share for the lunch break.

Who can attend

This day retreat is open to anyone who has learned the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana meditations with the DBC or within the Triratna movement.
