Adopted from the Indian magical tradition and given spiritual significance by Tantric Buddhism, the four tantric rites describe the modes of operation, or the magical interactions, that happen between the guru and his disciple.
The guru wields the red rite of fascination, the white rite of pacification, the black rite of destruction, and the yellow rite of prospering – all according to the needs of the disciple in a particular place and time.
Outside of this traditional Tantric context, the four rites evoke how we can support and inspire each other in the Sangha and in our friendships. The rites are all necessary at different times in our lives and are a vital aspect of deepening friendship.
On this Sangha Retreat in Mucklagh, Vajrashura and Maitrikaya will lead a long weekend retreat of exploration and practice of the four tantric rites, and how they can help deepen our experience of friendships and connections in the Dharma.
Cost: €300 waged / €270 low-waged / €190 unwaged or student.
Suitable for: Anyone who has done an introductory meditation course with us or any other Triratna Buddhist Centre.
