The Four Tantric Rites – A Sub-30 Seminar

Sunday 30th July 2023
10:00am - 1:00pm

Led by Vajrashura

An In-Person Event

Adopted from the Indian magical tradition and given spiritual significance by Tantric Buddhism, the four tantric rites describe the modes of operation, or the magical interactions, that happen between the guru and his disciple. The guru wields the red rite of fascination, the white rite of pacification, the black rite of destruction, and the yellow rite of prospering – all according to needs of the disciple in a particular place and time.

Outside of this traditional Tantric context, the four rites evoke how we can support and inspire each other in the Sangha and in our friendships. The rites are all necessary at different times in our lives and are a vital aspect of deepening friendship.

On this morning, Vajrashura will explore the four tantric rites and how they can help deepen our experience of friendships in the Dharma.

Vajrashura lives in Dublin and works both for the Dublin Buddhist Centre and the Sikkha Project. Ordained in 2007, he is a Private and Public Preceptor.

All levels of experience welcome. No need to book in advance. Just show up for 10am, or you can come from 9.30am to have coffee and croissants beforehand!

All our Sub-30 events are offered on a donation basis but you might consider making a donation to help us to continue to provide these kinds of events.
