What to Look for in a Spiritual Guide – A Sub-30 Seminar

Saturday 11th November 2023
10:00am - 1:00pm

Led by Jyotika

An In-Person Event

The contemporary spiritual marketplace – online and in-person – teems with guides, teachers and gurus. But what should you look for when deciding if a person is worth taking seriously, is to be trusted, and has something of substance to offer?

Using an ancient Buddhist text from the Pali Cannon, complimented with a story from Irish mythology, we’ll explore these questions on this seminar. The morning will be a mix of study, discussion, story-telling and meditation.

Suitable for anyone interested in Buddhism who is 30 years or younger. No charge, just turn up on the morning. Just show up at 10am, or come around 9.30am if you want to join us for tea, coffee and croissants beforehand.

Jyotika began meditating in the mid-90’s while at university where he studied English Literature and Theatre. He joined the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2000. He currently works as Project Manager of Shubha Vihara, overseeing the transformation of an old farmhouse outside Ballina, Co.Tipperary into our first Triratna retreat centre in Ireland. He has taught meditation and led study of Buddhist texts for many years.

All our Sub-30 events are offered on a donation basis but you might consider making a donation to help us to continue to provide these kinds of events.
